In recognition of the dedicated service of KSR Educational and Charitable Trust, the management extends full support in establishing a unique and oﬀshore research Centre for Nano Science and Technology (CNST) with a dedicated team of faculty and scientists working together to bring innovation in Nano Science and Technology under the Directorship of Prof. V. Rajendran. The centre is aimed to cater to the academic and industrial needs in collaboration with various national and international universities, research centres, and industries. The management is keen in bringing out the CNST as a world-class research centre to take up any challenging research work in Nano valley for the beneﬁts of the nation and the society. The centre has already completed 20 major projects from DRDO, DST, Nanomission, UGC-DAE CSR and IGCAR, and six minor projects from DRDO, CSIR &UGC with a total grant of INR 3.30 crores. Two major research projects from DST, BRNS and DRDO with a total grant of INR 72 lakhs are ongoing. The centre has ﬁled 14 patents in areas such as nano-metal oxides from natural minerals, nano-silica from rice husk, and nanoparticles from herbal plants for diﬀerent industrial applications. These patents are ready for technology transfer. The centre has already signed MoUs with leading research institutes in India and countries such as Germany, Taiwan, South Korea, Australia, Singapore, USA, Portugal, South Africa, Kenya and Mauritius for joint collaborative research work. The centre is also looking for joint collaborations with multi-national companies on mutual interest. The department has already conducted many popular international conferences and workshops.
The centre oﬀers undergraduate (B.Tech.) and postgraduate (M.Tech.) courses in Nano Science and Technology. Adjunct Professors are working at the centre from reputed institutions like NUS, Singapore. The centre has come up with more than 200 publications in diﬀerent peer-reviewed international journals with good impact factor.
